Level 2 Skin Care And Facial Treatments 

The aim Level 2 Award in Skin Care and Facial Treatments is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to safely provide facial treatments to clients. Learners will develop the skills required to practice according to health and safety requirements in a salon environment, gain suitable communication skills to care for clients. Learners will develop their knowledge of facial anatomy and physiology, legal considerations, and be able to prepare for and provide skin care information and facials to clients.

What is included?

This course includes: -Health And Safety The aim of this unit is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of health and safety within the salon environment. -Client Care The aim of this unit is to develop the learners’ knowledge and understanding of client care and communication. Learners will develop the ability to adapt the provision of client care and their communication skills to the needs of different clients. -Skin Care And Facial Treatments The aim of this unit is to develop knowledge and understanding of facial anatomy, legislation, and facial treatments. Learners will develop their skills in providing facial treatments. This course includes all course materials, equipment and models provided to complete case study work and assessments. Students need to complete home study, a portfolio of evidence, assignments and attend the academy for two days practical to pass this course

LEVEL 3 Award In Anatomical And Physiological Knowledge 

The VTCT Level 3 Award in Anatomical and Physiological Knowledge of Body Systems is a qualification that has been specifically designed to give you knowledge and understanding of the main systems of the body. This knowledge and understanding is embedded in many beauty and complementary therapy qualifications. You will also learn about further career pathways in allied healthcare fields.

What is involved?

This course is home study and students will be expected to complete a portfolio of evidence as well as an assignment before the final exam can be completed.

VTCT Level 4 Blemish Removal Qualification

The VTCT Level 4 in Blemish Removal Qualification is an advanced qualification for level 4 qualified practitioners or equivalent aged 18 and over.

This qualification will include all the required elements to work successfully as a fully commercial blemish removal professional.

What is included?

Students will be expected to achieve all mandatory units which include: Advanced Epilation Techniques Throughout this course, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of all Health & Safety aspects, Advanced Client Consultation, Skin Analysis, Anatomy and physiology & providing Blemish Removal treatments relating to level 4 aesthetic therapies. Skills in developing the knowledge & understanding with communication and client service to widen their knowledge of the principles and practices of level 4 aesthetic therapies.

Level 3 or equivalent-Home study, assignments, and assessments are required to complete this course ​

Level 4 Diploma in IPL Laser and Light

the VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation is a vocational qualification aimed at 16+ learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed beauty therapist specialising in hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, although it is considered advantageous for the learners to hold a relevant Level 2 or equivalent Beauty Therapy qualification.

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification is based on the national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a specialist beauty therapist. Learners must achieve all mandatory units which include: - Provide electrical epilation - Advanced epilation techniques - Laser and light treatments for hair removal - Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation - Management of health, safety and security in the salon - Physiology of ageing - Quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety whilst looking in depth at the physiology of aging. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with and manage clients. Learners will learn how to provide a range of beauty treatments including basic and advanced epilation along with laser and IPL applications in order to make informed decisions for the Purpose of hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments

The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists. This qualification is based on beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline prior to undertaking this qualification. Your centre will have ensured that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enroll and successfully achieve this qualification.

This qualification is the only Level 4 qualification offered by VTCT in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments. The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense pulse light and laser treatments. This qualification requires you to develop skills to carry out IPL and laser treatments. This qualification allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients.

This qualification has been specifically designed for the 18+ age groups, builds on existing knowledge and understanding of therapy skills and will develop an enhanced repertoire of technical skills to prepare you for employment. You will have your skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment. This qualification will require research; it includes the skills involved in providing a thorough consultation with the client to formulate a specific course of treatment, tailored to suit individual client needs, use laser an light treatments for skin rejuvenation and hair removal and to manage the health, safety and security of the salon.
