Focus Award Level 2 Skin Care And Facial Treatments

The aim Level 2 Award in Skin Care and Facial Treatments is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to safely provide facial treatments to clients. Learners will develop the skills required to practice according to health and safety requirements in a salon environment, gain suitable communication skills to care for clients. Learners will develop their knowledge of facial anatomy and physiology, legal considerations, and be able to prepare for and provide skin care information and facials to clients.

The rationale of the programme is to provide a career path for learners who wish to develop their aesthetic practice capabilities within the health and aesthetic sector. The expected outcome of the Certificate, which is the achievement of a recognised UK qualification, is for learners to develop the skills required by organisations and the aesthetic industry globally. This qualification will prepare learners for employment and support a range of roles in the workplace. This qualification provides a specialist work-related programme of study that provides breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, along with practical skills required in the aesthetics sector. This qualification will help to prepare professional staff and managers of the future in the aesthetics sector.
This course includes:
-Health And Safety
The aim of this unit is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of health and safety within the salon environment.
-Client Care
The aim of this unit is to develop the learners’ knowledge and understanding of client care and communication. Learners will develop the ability to adapt the provision of client care and their communication skills to the needs of different clients.
-Skin Care And Facial Treatments
The aim of this unit is to develop knowledge and understanding of facial anatomy, legislation, and facial treatments. Learners will develop their skills in providing facial treatments.

This course includes all course materials, equipment and models provided to complete case study work and assessments.

Students need to complete home study, a portfolio of evidence, assignments and attend the academy for two days practical to pass this course.

Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 to undertake this qualification. All theory is done online and practical is done at the academy with dates to suit your diary. ​

Qualification Overview: The Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (RQF) is aimed at those learners who have completed the Level 2 qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to build on the existing knowledge and understanding gained from the Level 2 qualification, and therefore enables learners to expand the scope of their technical skills for employment as a beauty therapist. They will learn how to plan, prepare, and deliver Level 3 beauty treatments safely and correctly in accordance with health and safety regulations and legislation.

Qualification Purpose: The Aim of the Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Understanding Human Anatomy and Physiology (RQF) is to provide learners with the key knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology required for a range of roles across the health, beauty, and fitness sectors.

Focus Awards does not set any other entry requirements, but additional criteria may be requested or specified by the centre.
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 to undertake this qualification. All theory is done online and practical is done at the academy with dates to suit your diary. ​

Focus Awards Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF)
Qualification Overview: The Level 3 First Aid at Work aims to develop learners' knowledge and understanding and skill of First Aid at Work. The qualification will provide learners with the opportunity to administer First Aid procedures in the workplace by becoming a qualified first aider. The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) meets the Health and Safety Executive (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is aimed at those who work for a range of organisations. All employers are required by law to have a First Aid provision for their employees. In achieving the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF), all learners will cover essentials of First Aid, including roles and responsibilities, incident assessment, and managing and assessing First Aid in casualties in a variety of situations. These situations could be relate to breathing, choking, bleeding, shock, and minor injuries as well as casualties with sudden poisoning, anaphylaxis and suspected major illness.

A first aider's primary responsibility is to provide immediate care to individuals who are injured or suddenly become ill. This includes assessing the situation quickly and determining the nature and severity of the injury or illness. First aiders must assess the casualty's condition and make decisions on the appropriate course of action. This involves identifying potential hazards, determining if it's safe to approach the casualty, and assessing the level of consciousness. Once the situation has been assessed, first aiders administer appropriate first aid treatments. This can include:
Applying bandages, dressings, and splints to wounds or injuries.
Providing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) in cases of cardiac arrest.
Using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to restore normal heart rhythm.
Administering medication such as epinephrine for severe allergic reactions.
Assisting with the recovery position for unconscious casualties.
Managing burns, fractures, bleeding, and other medical emergencies.
